The best is yet to come By Adele

The best is yet to come By Adele

Despite an incredibly successful few years, Adele thinks the "best is yet to come".

The Rolling in the Deep singer, who recently announced that she and boyfriend Simon Konecki were expecting their first child,  reportedly feels like she has "hit the jackpot" with all the positive developments in her life this year.

A source told Closer magazine: "It's true love for Adele and Simon. They are committed to each other and ready to be a family.

"Adele feels that falling pregnant is like hitting the jackpot. She said, 'I've been on a high for a year with my work and personal life, but the best is yet to come.'"

The source added that Adele was thrilled that her baby bump has become more visible and is planning to indulge.

"Adele told friends she's so happy now there's a proper bump. She's joking she wants to eat shepherd's pie until the cows come home," said the source.

The singer also reportedly spent £35 000 in audio and lighting for her baby's nursery because "she’s sparing no expense".

A source said: "Adele might have a reputation for being a bit of a spendthrift but when it comes to her baby she's sparing no expense.

"She is building state-of-the-art nurseries in all her homes. She's having bespoke wallpaper made and it's costing a fortune with climate control and cameras so she can see everything on her laptop.

"She's spending £35 000 on the lighting and sound system alone."

Adele (24) revealed the news of her pregnancy to fans on her website last month.

She wrote: "I'm delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together.

"I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we're over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx."

A baby had clearly been on the singer's wish-list. Discussing her future with Vogue earlier this year, Adele said: "So at least now I can have enough time to write a happy record. And be in love and be happy. And then I don’t know what I’ll do. Get married. Have some kids. Plant a nice vegetable patch."
